Obituary of James Arthur Moore

Jim Moore passed away at his home on the Kingston Peninsula after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, November 4th, 2010. He was born on January 4th, 1940 in Saint John to the late Frank and Alberta Moore. Jim was a devoted husband to Dianne Moore (O'Donnell) for almost 51 years. Jim lived a very active life style, He was employed by the Department of Transportation for 30 years and Self Employed in woods work for over 20 years, Jim and Dianne operated Chapel Grove Convenience on the Peninsula for 12 years and also Foster Parents for 12 years. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking, boating, horseshoes, BBQing and snow plowing, He was a great dancer and singer and Harmonica Player. Jim and Dianne were married February 22, 1960. Jim is survived by his son Danny Moore (Vicki Gorham) of the Kingston Peninsula, daughter Debbie Sparks (Mike Sparks) of the Kingston Peninsula and chosen daughter (granddaughter) Vicky Moore (Rob Gallant) of the Kingston Peninsula; ten grandchildren Vicky, Jessie, Mandy, Dianne, Tammy, Jody, Chris, Erin, Patrick and Graysin; twelve great grandchildren; several aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and special niece Kim Scopie (Rodgerson). Jim was predeceased by his parents Frank and Alberta (Raynes) Moore his son James (Jimmy); two sisters, Eileen Clowater and Mary Rodgerson, two brothers Frank Moore and Ralph Moore. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at a later date in Harding’s Point Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the K.V Extra Mural Unit (848-4600), Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. The family is especially appreciative for the care and support of the K.V Extra Mural unit with a special thanks to Ruth Barker.
