Obituary of Brenda Rose Farren

Brenda Rose Farren of Saint John passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born at Saint John on December 22, 1957, she was a daughter of the late Edward A. and Margaret N. (Robertson) Farren. Brenda was educated at St. Vincent’s Girls High School, Saint John, and Mount St. Vincent University, Halifax. She worked at Standard Machinery and Equipment Co. Ltd., and was a member of Holy Trinity Parish. Active in her community, Brenda served on various boards, and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Saint John Horticultural Society and the Lily Lake Pavillion Restoration Committee, as well as being a member, Rockwood Park Advisory Board, City of Saint John, and a former Board Member, Victorian Order of Nurses (VON), Saint John. Brenda is survived by three brothers, Edward of Saint John, William (Gerri) of Saint John, and Daniel (Lori) of Rothesay; three sisters, Dawn McDonald (Kevin) of St. George, Eleanor Mason of Dartmouth, NS, and Marian of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 12:00 Noon from Holy Trinity Church. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Upham, at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to Holy Trinity Building Fund or St. Anthony’s Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.
