Obituary of Vivian Catherine Saunders

Vivian Catherine Saunders of Saint John, wife of the late Howard T. Saunders, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Kennebec Manor. Born at Saint John on October 22, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Ida (Bent) Allen. Vivian was formerly employed with the T. Eaton Company, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived two daughters, Romaine Kramer of Rothesay, and Nodell Hohmann (Josef) of Grand Bay; grandchildren Kurt Hohmann (Dianna), Brenda Kirkpatrick (Rick), Brent Hohmann, Jan Hohmann (Suzanne), Nadine Kramer, Gina Kramer (Anthony Melanson), Elizabeth (Liz) Kramer, John Gommer (Lena), Tina Campbell (Brian), Debra Gommer (Jamie), and Leisa Gommer; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Vivian was predeceased by a daughter, Treva Gommer; a grandson, Michael Gommer; sons-in-law Mike Gommer and Horst Kramer; sisters Norma Clarke, Tudy Cannon, and Vera Henderson; and a brother, Charles (Sonny) Allen. Although there will be no visitation time, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service which will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM from Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John.
