Obituary of Peter William Carrodus

We are sad to announce the death of our dear father, Peter William Carrodus of Saint John, on November 20, 2008. Peter survived his dear wife, Frances, to whom he was married for 49 years. He is survived by his son Jon (Simone) of Vancouver; daughter Jennifer (Michael Veres) of East Dover, Nova Scotia; daughter Anne (James MacNeill) of Brown’s Flat; grandchildren Bronwyn, Neil, Sam and Joel; great-grandsons Eadoin and Casey. He was recently predeceased by his special friend Gladys Peuquet of Niagara Falls, New York. Peter was born in Cheshire, England and obtained his Bachelor-of-Laws degree from London University. He served for five years with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserves during World War II and attained the rank of Lieutenant. Peter and Frances and their three young children emigrated to Canada in 1957. Peter joined the Royal Trust Company where he worked in Vancouver, Victoria and Toronto before moving to Saint John in 1972 to become manager of the company’s New Brunswick offices. Peter golfed at The Riverside Country Club for 30 years and was a past member of the Union Club and the Probus Club of Saint John. Following cremation and interment at Fernhill Cemetery, a Memorial Service will be held at Saint John First Wesleyan Church, 399 Boar’s Head Road, Saint John at 2 pm on Monday December 8, 2008. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
