Obituary of Barbara Mary Palmer

PALMER, BARBARA MARY (MILLS)- The death of Mrs. Barbara Mary (Mills) Palmer, of Willow Grove, NB, wife of John R. Palmer occurred on January 13, 2009, at her residence. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late James and Gladys (Parks) Mills. Throughout her life, Barbara had been employed with New System Laundry, Canex Military Store, Optical, and CNIB, from where she had retired. Barb enjoyed playing cards, loved to travel, and had enjoyed many years in Europe. Besides her husband, John, she is survived by two daughters, Roxanne (Fred Bouchamp)Gervais of Pembroke, ON, and Starr Cook (Robin) of Utopia, ON; four sisters, Debbie (Jack) O’Bryant of Hampton, NB, Betty (Buttons) Mennie (Gerald) of Dartmouth, NS, Margaret Davidson of Sydney, NS, and Sandra Colwell of Chillawack, BC; two grandchildren, Nathan and Leah Cook, sister-in-law, Constance (Leonard) Voutour, as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, John and James Mills and one sister, Roberta Cawley. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 2:30 pm from Brenan’s Chapel. Remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Canadian Diabetes Association, or any charity of donor’s choice would be appreciated.
