The death of Frank Ernest Miller of Saint John, husband of Ottillie (Cobham) Miller, occurred on Friday, September 12, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John, he was a son of the late Fred and Louise (Scurrah) Miller. Frank was an active member of Main Street Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Scout Master, and was in the Audit Division. A graduate of the Saint John Vocational School in 1947, he was formerly employed at the Golden Ball, and as Comptroller at SMT and Crosby Molasses, retiring in 1993. An extremely loving and caring man, Frank loved music, and with his brother Ken played with the Commodores. He had great admiration for God’s creation, and enjoyed leisurely drives, sunsets, and travelling. In addition to his devoted wife of 56 years, Frank is survived by two brothers, Jim Miller of Vancouver, BC, and David Miller (Velma) of Vulcan, BC; sisters-in-law Anne Miller of Clifton Royal and Audrey Miller Arthurs of Bayswater; a brother-in-law, J. D. (Pete) Cobham (Ruth) of Saint John; a cousin, Margaret Cobham Mollins (Eric) of Saint John; as well as several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and friends. Frank was predeceased by brothers Col. Ralph Miller, Meryle Miller, and Ken Miller; and by sisters Doris Collier and Nancy Cooper. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM from Main Street Baptist Church. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Main Street Baptist Church or to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
