Obituary of Helen Mae Doiron

Helen Mae Doiron of Saint John passed away peacefully at the Carleton Kirk Nursing Home on Thursday, December 18, 2008. Born at Woodstock, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Flora (Boulanger) Niles. Helen had worked at Centracare for some time, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 14 Ladies Auxiliary, and was formerly an officer of the Salvation Army. Helen is survived by four sons, Mac Kirkpatrick (Nini) of Alberta, Fred Kirkpatrick (Shirley) of the Kingston Peninsula, Ken Kirkpatrick (Dianne), also of the Kingston Peninsula, Rick Kirkpatrick (Margaret) of Saint John; four daughters, Connie Wright of Saint John, Paulette Coggan (Bill) of Rothesay, Diane McKay (Bert) of Calgary, and Nancy Russell (Gary Harris) of Saint John; a brother, Donald Niles of British Columbia; a sister, Jean Ferguson (Art) of Saint John; 29 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her first husband, Malcolm Kirkpatrick Sr; her second husband, Arthur Doiron; her son-in-law, Arthur Wright; granddaughter, Deborah Kirkpatrick; and sisters Rita Trail and Ella Muzzerolle. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 3:30 PM from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
