Obituary of Thomas Cloran Tracey

The death of Thomas C. Tracey, husband of Eileen Gallagher, occurred unexpectedly at his residence on December 24, 2008. Tom was born in Saint John and was a son of the late Thomas L. and Emma (Sinclair) Tracey. He was a life long resident, having lived in the Quispamsis- Gondola Point area for 30 years and the last 14 in Grand Bay–Westfield. Tom had been employed for many years with CP Railway and Smith Transport. His life was dedicated to his family and friends, his great love of nature and hunting and his keen interest in painting and music. He was predeceased by his first wife Betty (Hewitt) Tracy and two sons, Chris and Blair. As well as Eileen, Tom is survived by five sons, Gary Tracey (Carrie) of Fairfield NB, Stephen Tracey (Cathy) of Peers, AB, David Tracey (Michel) and Brian Tracey (Susan) both of Willow Grove, NB, and Sean Tracey (Mitchell) of Vancouver BC; one daughter, Gail Gallant (Ken) of Quispamsis; two brothers, Aulden Tracey (Helen) of Loch Lomond and Donald Tracey (Hilma) of Damascus, NB; 11grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter as well as several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Church on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 2 pm. Interment will take place in St Joseph’s cemetery later in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
