Obituary of Patrick Robert Beckingham

With his family at his side, Patrick Beckingham of Saint John, NB, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11th , 2008 at Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Earle Beckingham and Mary Madelon (McCann) Beckingham. Pat was the past president of ILA Local 1764, Checkers Union. He was general manager for Furncan Marine (Beckingham Palace) for over 35 years and was well respected by all. Pat leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Martha (Goss) Beckingham, his daughters Kathy (Joe Landry), Patricia and her husband Leigh McLaughlin, sons Kevin, Tim and Doug, daughter in law Caron Anne Haggerty. He also leaves behind grandchildren Erin, Matthew, Shaun, Christopher, Keith, Alex, Olivia and one great grandson Aiden. Patrick also leaves behind several siblings; brothers, Brian (Carol), Ronnie (Lada), Terry (Lynn) Hopey, Larry (Joan) of Thunder Bay, ON, Donnie (Muriel) and sisters Becky (Leo) Robichaud and Christine; brothers in law Peter (Carol) Goss and Donnie Goss and special cousin, Irene (Don) Taylor of Petitcodiac, NB. Pat also leaves behind his special buddy Ernie Puggins, his dog. Predeceased by his parents and brothers Keith, Gerry and Paul. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Wednesday, October 15th , 2008 at 12 noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Saint John Animal Rescue League or the charity of the donor’s choice.
