Obituary of Josephine Mary Plume

Surrounded by her loving family, Josephine Plume (nee Debly) of 480 Windsor Street, passed away on May 4, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Josephine was the wife of the late Francis “Frank” Plume and the daughter of the late Camel Debly of Dahr-el-Aine, Lebanon and Martha Busaid of Martinque, Leeward Islands and step-mother Carmel Habib Busaid Karem. Josephine’s number one priority was her family. Not only did she raise her own children, but she helped raise her brothers and sisters and later her grandsons and special granddaughter. Josephine was happiest when she was at home with her family. In her younger years, she helped her father run his store, Enterprise Dry Goods, on Prince Edward Street. After her marriage, she helped her husband run his barber shop, Frank’s Barber Shop, on Main Street West. She was a long time member of the St. Pius X CWL (fifty years plus) and the Well Baby Clinic. She was a past member of St. Joseph’s Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed summering at Hunter Lake. Cooking was her passion and she was well known for her Lebanese cuisine. Her other hobbies included knitting, crocheting, gardening and reading. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Louise Greig of Saint John; son, Paul Plume (Dale) of Hampton; five grandchildren: James (Tricia) and Joanne (Shay) both of Saint John, Jason, Matthew and Christopher all of Hampton; two great granddaughters: Jessica and Samantha; one sister, Eileen Farnsworth of Vancouver and several nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by beloved family pet and namesake, Josie. She was predeceased by her husband of 29 years Frank; three brothers: Joseph, Frank and John and five sisters: Rose, Eva, Theresa, Louise and Irene. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
