Shirley and I met Hans in Florida through mutual friends And found that Hans liked to play so before long we had a tee time and played a lot of games throughout the winter season we also helped each other other with different house problems etc Hans was a very interesting man being a sea captain And I was. Always interested in his yarns we had many rides to the wine store through the years and became very good friends . We were. I will always remember when my grandfather would pick me up with Hans after coffee and he would share stories from his cruise ship days and all his life experiences. Dear Elsa and Family, We are very sorry to hear of Hans' passing. We have fond memories of your visits to St George. One special memory I (Stig) have is when Hans arrived in my parent's yard with what I remember as a two seater sports car. He insisted that I take it for a drive. I was still in my teens. As an RN with NCL, I worked with Hans for several years on the SS Norway as he served as Captain of that great ship. Besides being the only Saint Johners working on board which immediately connected us, we had such great respect for each other, and shared so many laughs together.
